When you look like you were on an island vacation, but you were really just binge-watching your favorite show, it can make you look and feel amazing.
What should I do before my tan? Make sure you complete all other spa treatments before your spray tan, including facials, massages, waxing and mani/pedis. If you choose to shave, you should do so 24 hours before your spray tan to avoid open pores causing little brown dots.
Exfoliate…it’s a must! It is one of the most important steps to help your tan last and look its best.
Avoid lotions prior to your spray tan appointment. Also, it’s best to dress in or bring along a set of loose clothes to avoid leaving streaks.
What to expect during your spray tan appointment? When you arrive in the tanning room, you’ll be instructed to get undressed. If you don’t want to see any tan lines, going commando is best but the most important thing is that you do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
Do I need to do anything special after my tan? Avoid getting wet! Your tan can take up to 12 hours to develop, depending on what kind of solution was used. This includes sweating, swimming, showering or getting caught in the rain. You also want to avoid tight clothing while your tan is processing, especially pants with inseams such as jeans and some leggings, as well as tight cuffed pants or sweatpants, etc.
If you are tanning for a special event, we recommend you get your spray tan one to two days before. Keep in mind, as your tan continues to develop it will get darker, but once rinsed off, it will be the perfect color.
Will it make me look orange? If it’s done poorly, it can give off an orange hue, but with the right formula and spray tan expert, you won’t look orange. You will look like you just spent some treasured time in the sun. The bottom line is that most people agree we all look better with a little glow, so it’s best to get one the safe way for your skin.
