The Circular Economy

Newtown Square Friends & Neighbors, February 2024

While not a new concept, you may not have heard of the term Circular Economy. The mission of a circular economy is to find a beneficial reuse for material, thereby eliminating waste. It’s all about sharing, reusing, refurbishing/repairing and recycling products so these resources continue circulating right back into the community they are generated from, to be used again. It’s a wonderful concept that we are all aware of, but sometimes in practice, it’s more difficult to achieve than you might anticipate.

We aren’t speaking to aluminum cans and plastic bottles here, but larger, perhaps more specialized items that can’t be put into your weekly recycling bin. While most of us have good intentions, sometimes life gets in the way and we aren’t able to follow through due to the time needed to research every item. To that end, here is an easy reference guide to assist in finding the right place to send the specific hard-to-recycle item. We hope you find it helpful and put it to good use!
