Congratulations, Ella!

Newtown Square Friends & Neighbors, October 2026

This month, we are proud to shine the spotlight on Ella Mary Sowti, an active sophomore at Marple Newtown High School, as our October Casey’s Student of the Month!

Ella has embraced a wide variety of activities throughout her high school experience, discovering new interests while developing an impressive range of skills. She participates in Marching Band, Color Guard, Orchestra, Choir and annual musical productions, as well as numerous school and community clubs. She also enjoys athletics, having participated in rowing, tennis, soccer and basketball. During the 2026–27 marching band season, Ella will be part of the Color Guard, creating and performing visual elements that bring the band’s performances to life. She also continues to participate in tennis and soccer during their summer seasons.

The performing arts have become an especially meaningful part of Ella’s experience. Participating in school productions has helped her strengthen her vocal, dance and acting abilities. She has also taken private piano lessons for many years, further developing her musical talents.

Ella also takes great pride in her Iranian-American heritage. Born and raised in the United States, she can read, speak and write Farsi and has participated in numerous Persian social and cultural activities. German is her third language, influenced by her mother and her family’s connection to Germany and Austria. Ella and her siblings have participated in both German and Farsi classes since they were young, and the family travels to Austria each summer to visit her mother’s side of the family.

Looking toward the future, Ella hopes to attend a highly ranked university and pursue degrees in either the medical or legal field. With her curiosity, determination and willingness to explore so many different interests, Ella is already building an impressive foundation for whatever path she ultimately chooses. We wish you continued success as you pursue your many passions and look forward to seeing where your talents and determination take you.
