We are proud to recognize Gianna McGee, a rising sophomore at Marple Newtown High School (MNHS), as our August Casey’s Student of the Month!
Gianna stays busy both in and out of the pool. She enjoys playing and watching sports and is a member of the MNHS Volleyball Team and Dive Team. She also competes with the Rose Tree Woods Swim Club Dive Team, where she works as a lifeguard and trains year-round with the Philadelphia Dive Academy. In addition, Gianna competes with both USA Diving and AAU Diving on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards.
Her freshman year at MNHS was nothing short of impressive. Gianna captured first place at the Central League Championships, finished fourth at the PIAA District Championships, and placed tenth at the State Championships. She was also named First Team All-Central and Second Team All-Delco—remarkable accomplishments for a first-year high school athlete.
This summer, Gianna continued to make waves by competing at the AAU National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Beyond athletics, Gianna is involved in Best Buddies and the Feeding Fellow Americans Club, demonstrating her commitment to serving others and making a positive impact in her community Looking ahead, Gianna hopes to continue diving for all of the teams she currently represents throughout her high school career. Further down the road, she plans to pursue a degree in nursing so she can help others and would love the opportunity to compete in diving at the collegiate level.
Gianna, your dedication, talent and compassion are truly inspiring. Keep making a splash in everything you do—while making as little splash as possible in the water! We know great things lie ahead and look forward to watching your continued success.
