This month, we are proud to recognize Joey Basquill as our March Casey’s Student of the Month!
Joey is a seventh-grade student at Paxon Hollow Middle School, where he is known for his strong work ethic, positive attitude and enthusiasm both in and out of the classroom. He is an active member of the Paxon Hollow 7th-grade basketball team and also ran cross country for the school in the fall. Beyond school athletics, Joey is deeply involved in sports within the community. He plays Boys Varsity Basketball with the St. Anastasia CYO program, competes on a CYO football team in the fall and participates in MNBA basketball. While he enjoys every sport he plays, Joey doesn’t hesitate when asked to name his favorite—football holds the top spot.
Academically, Joey is enrolled in advanced classes at Paxon, with history standing out as his favorite subject. Earlier in his academic journey, he explored his interest in technology by participating in Rad Robots, a robotics club at Culbertson Elementary School. At home, Joey is the only boy in a busy household with three younger sisters. He enjoys hot wings, and one of his favorite places to visit is Universal Studios Florida.
Looking ahead, Joey plans to continue challenging himself with advanced or AP coursework in high school while pursuing his football career at Marple Newtown High School. Joey, you are a bright, motivated and charismatic young man, and we are excited to watch all that you accomplish in the years ahead. Congratulations!
You get to choose! Who is our next Student of the Month?
You’ve seen them featured in our magazine—now it’s your chance to decide who’s next!
We’re looking for students in grades 7–12 who make a difference in their schools, communities, among friends or through local organizations. Nominees must live in Marple, Newtown Square or Edgmont, no matter which school they attend—or if they’re homeschooled. Email LJeffries@BestVersionMedia.com. We’re celebrating character, not just credentials, so academic or athletic accomplishments are not required
